The "Captain monument" in Slivnitsa was built in the courtyard of the former military Slivnitsa division. It is dedicated to the five captains from the Bulgarian army in the Serbian-Bulgarian War of 1885: Atanas Benderev, Costa Panitsa, Radko Dimitriev, Olympi Panov and Atanas Uzunov.
The monument was built in 1985 on the 100th anniversary of the heroic victory of the glorious Bulgarian army. There are bust-sculptures of the 5th captains. The busts are located at the base of five symbolic bayonets with height of 11 meters. The project is by the architect G. Stoilov and author of the sculptures is Professor B. Gondov.
Access to the monument is limited because the territory of the military base does not provide free access.
